I’m on solo duty for the week, and it’s looking like the beginning of a lot of solo duty as Miles’ work travel really is picking up. Miles is an exceptionally helpful daddy and husband, so we really feel it when he’s not here. He’s a helpful person in general, and he grew up with two sisters who trained him well, and beyond that, we’ve been in survival mode for the last 4 years. It was sink or swim there for a good while, and the only reason we didn’t sink was because of him. Okay, my post about a simple life hack is unintentionally turning into a gushy post about Miles, haha. Anyway, my point is that he’s INCREDIBLY helpful and does a lot around the house, and when I have to go to the garage and get paper towels or get a water to put by my bed at night or change the battery in the smoke detector when he is gone, I realize even more the tiny things that he does on a day to day basis.
So, one of the things that Miles always does is stir the almond butter. I have no idea why I hate this job as much as I do, but I HATE IT. Wait a minute, I know exactly why I hate it. As soon as you put your spoon into the jar, the oil spills out, then you have to stir forever and your knuckles are completely covered in almond butter stickiness, and then no matter how perfectly you think you stirred it, there is still inedible non-stirred almond butter when you get to the bottom. Anyway, I hate it and it’s just one of the many nice things that Miles takes care of so that I don’t have to. Until, I found the answer to the dreaded almond butter stirring situation and now I doesn’t spiral me into a fit of rage when he is out of town and I have to do it myself…ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IT STORE IT UPSIDE DOWN!!!
I mean, simple as that! Who knew!?!?!? Store it upside down, and then shake it a little, and you BARELY have to even stir it when you open. So, there you go…best life hack ever!!!! No more sticky almond butter knuckles and giant mess!
