My life was changed a few months ago when I finally gave in and starting online grocery shopping at Harris Teeter. If you haven’t done this yet, you’re cray. No idea why it took me so long to actually do it, but it saves me so much time, energy and money each week. I switched my big grocery shop over to Harris Teeter (so much cheaper), but I still end up having to go to Whole Foods 2-3 times throughout the week to get a couple specialty things here and there that I can’t get at Harris Teeter. To be honest, it’s much worse hauling kids to the grocery store to get one or two things. At least when you have to take them on a big grocery shop it feels like a big outing and you feel super productive. Hauling all three kids in and out of carseats and crossing the crazy parking lot for one or two things is awful. I usually try to swing by during my very limited kid free time each week, but it’s a pain in the ass.
And then, it happened…Shipt came to Charleston and now I may never step foot in the grocery store every again. Shipt is an independent grocery delivery service, and they deliver foods from Whole Foods! I’ve got to tell you about my first experience with them on Friday night, it was honestly MAGICAL. Last week was a hard week, I was sick and on solo duty. Miles was just as sick and having to push through important business meetings and work golf. We were both exhausted on Friday night, and neither one of us wanted to hit up the store. I just needed a few things, and I just couldn’t bring myself to make a trip to Whole Foods for just those things. My bestie was texting me that her entire Whole Foods grocery shop was just delivered to her house in less than an hour through Shipt. So, I figured that it was the perfect time to give it a shot. She sent me a coupon that gave me $10 off my first order and I downloaded the app. I added the few things that I needed, and it said it would be delivered in the next hour or two. How incredible, right? It gets better. As soon as I submitted my order, just like everyone online grocery shop I’ve ever done, I remember like 10 other things that I needed. My shopper was texting me the whole time she was at the store. Texting me pictures of possible substitutions and allowing me to add whatever I wanted to the list.
She was at my house within the hour on a Friday night! I mean this is literally a busy person’s dream come true. Who wants to stop by the grocery store on a Friday night after a week with their kids or a busy week at work? The cost is $8.95 per month and I tipped the lady (all through the app, because I never have cash). It was really that easy. You’ve gotta try! Here’s a coupon to get $10 off your first order.
