From Florence, we made our way to Tuscany for a quick one night stay. We had to cram a lot into the time we were there, so there was no working out. We then made our way to Rome the next morning. Rome is unbelievable. We decided that we would wake up on our second day there and run to the Borghese Gardens. Might as well check one of our sightseeing destinations off our list, right? We ran from our hotel to the Gardens. This was my first run since the box jumping accident, and it had been 7 weeks! I strapped on my ankle brace and it actually felt really good. Here’s the square at the entrance of the gardens.
And here is a picture of the gardens that we ran around.
We stopped at the Piazzale Dei Daini and did a quick strength training session. I have no idea if we were allowed to be using the building as workout equipment, but we didn’t get caught.
Here’s the workout we did:
1 long circuit- 3 sets
Step up to balance on the ledge of the building-25 reps/leg
Squat jumps -20 reps (I hate squat jumps!)
Walking lunges
Push up to side plank (so do a pushup and then spin the heels to the left and lift the right arm up, and then do another push up and switch sides)-20 reps
Tricep Dips on the ledge of the building -20 reps
Boat to Canoe (boat pose, like in yoga, the drop everything 2 inches off the ground, then back up)- 20 reps
One awesome thing about Rome is that they have free public water that is ice cold. We hit up this awesome fountain on the way out.
